Unshakeable - My Tribute

When peace like a river attendeth my way;
When sorrows like sea billows roll -
Whate'er my lot, Thou hast taught me to say
"It is well, it is well with my soul!"

Thus say the words of a famous old hymn written by Horatio Spafford.

And thus say the words of a picture that hangs on the wall of my lounge.

Why is That?...Why do we have to make Christianity so hard?

The Christian message can be confusing enough in itself...

yet we often end up complicating things more in the process of explaining ourselves...

Why is that?...

My Favourite Christian Tunes Through The Years

I have been told that I have a funny music taste...!

Here are just a few samples of my my favourite Christian Artists, songs and genres over the years.

Click on the clips to laugh at enjoy my wierd taste!

The Outlaw, by Larry Norman

Showing my age here! Larry was the Grandfather of Christian Rock, the original Jesus Freak, and was one of the first Christian artists I saw live back in the late 70's. He came to NZ numerous times, and I once bumped into him in a music shop in ChCh in the 80's! Larry sadly died of heart disease in 2008.

A Simple Prayer of Repentance

Hi All

I thought I would share a simple Power Point Show of a poem I wrote simply called " I Repent".

I would never say there is a magic formula - a special prayer you need to pray, or certain words that you need to recite to be saved. That is not how the Holy Spirit works. No two experiences are the same.

This is just something from my heart.

Enjoy!

Why Is It That?...Labelling Christians as 'Judgemental'

Welcome to the first in the series "Why Is That?", where I attempt to answer some tricky questions.

First, the scenario:

You are having a quiet, conversation with a Non-Christian, and the topic turns to spiritual matters. You start praying that God will open their heart to hear what you are saying.
Then they ask you why God would not want to let them into heaven. You take a big gulp, then explain to them about what sin is to God. Then...
Whammo! It's like you have told them they are a monster, or their mother dresses them funny.

Then out comes the old cliche: "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE JUDGING ME...?!!!".

Why is that?

The Christian Voter's Dilemma: What Is God's Will?

Man, do I feel for Christian voters in the US. They have a big dilemma on their hands in November.

On one hand - they want to promote the candidate that will run their country efficiently, smoothly, and will deliver policies in accordance with their personal views.

On the other hand - their Spirit-led conscience will steer them to select the person that would best honour God.

The dilemma: The two are more often than not incompatible.

Shocking Youth Message by Paul Washer

This is a message every Christian should hear!
Paul was invited to speak at a Youth Conference in 2002. While there, he witnessed some interesting goings-on.
During an altar call, he noticed that those going forward did not seem genuinely repentant, joking around and being silly. As a result, he changed the message he delivered to this one.

Be prepared for a shock! Running time 58 min, but worth every minute!

Welcome - About This Blog

Hi there, you've stumbled into my new blog - sorry about that!

As this is my first post, I thought I would share about how I came up with the blog title.
Firstly, it's got nothing to do with a murder scene body count! It's just a play on words.

Pick from one of the following reasons, and you won't be too off the mark:
  • the total number of people who will ever link to this blog
  • the total number of people who will ever post a comment on this blog
  • the total number of people who will actually like anything posted on this blog
  • the total number of people who will even visit this blog (including myself).
Actually, I'm not really interested in the numbers - it's just a place where I can dump all of my collections of thoughts, blabberings and interesting tid-bits I've gathered over time, without losing them. Thank you Google for organising my life for me!

I am a born-again Christian - so rest assured you won't see or hear any provocative pictures or videos, or offensive language. If I am linking to anything dubious, I will warn you beforehand.

I am just getting used to this blog thingy, so don't be surprised if next time you visit and the appearance has changed - I will probably tweak things here and there.

If you want to know a bit more about me, click on my profile.

Blessings.
